Plant Propagation

Can I propagate these Bougainvillea stems

I have two big green Bougainvillea stems growing and I wanted to see if I can propagate them? It's growing into my porch and I was going to trim it but I wanted to propagate whatever I can.

I literally just attempted it. Supposedly you can take a 8 inch cutting of newer growth and strip all the thorns and leaves off and just plant it in ur propagation cup. I’m not sure if it needs a specific type of soil. I’ve only had mine going for a few days so far , they aren’t dead yet and seem ok so we’ll see

Yes, take 15-20 cm long cuttings with the thick of a pencil or so. Use the mature stem (brown color) and plant them in soil (well drained).

Try to mantein wet all the time in a well-lit place with no direct sunlight and wait.

It could take a long time until it makes new roots. I propagated my own bugambilia before, I took 3 cuttings but only one success. Take a few weeks to grow a tiny leaves but a couple more to notice the new tiny roots.

Now past 7-8 months and start to bloom with a tiny flowers. I gonna take a photo and I’ll post it.
