Alocasia

What’s this? And babies!

Something looks like it's coming out the side of the stem. And yes I'm aware the roots are on the surface.

As for the babies (there's 4). Should I separate them or just wait. Mama plant is looking tired so I'm sort of just waiting for the babies to grow and start over.

That is a node. If you cut the section above it and plop the top in water it will root and then after the cut heals it will sprout a new alocasia stem from that point. I would definitely do a repot and take out all the corms and refresh the soil. You don’t have to cut the top off if you don’t want to.

You said it was looking tired and it’s probably because it has a lot of corms and not enough leaves to feed them the light they need. Plus the soil looks like it needs to be replaced. Alocasias are heavy feeders as well so they like fertilizer with every water but make sure it’s diluted properly. It’s best to seperate the corms and let them form their own root structure and new stems in perlite.
