How to add 6’ gravel barrier on this lumpy steep hill?

Hi everyone. I’ve been trying to figure out the best method to add 6’ of gravel to the edge of my house. The gravel is highly recommended for fire protection and we already lost one home to fire. That is a fairly steep slope and the ground is naturally uneven.

My current plan is to use a weed barrier, then add 2” geo grid pavers to help keep the gravel in place. I just think it’s going to look janky with that plan.

I can’t dig into the ground to level it out as it’s too rocky and hard (needs a jackhammer to dig through). I thought about adding dirt and compacting it to level it all out, but that seems very expensive and I would need several tons of dirt and many hours of compacting.

Do you guys have any other ideas or tips? Does geo grid nylon hold up over time? Anything else we can do to level out that undulating hillside?

Thanks everyone in advance!
