I like my desk surrounded by green, which gives me a little comfort amidst busy work，If I don't transplant it all the time, how big can this watermelon seedling grow?
Watermelon like to sprawl out and get very big. The system you are using will get outgrown quickly. Not that it won’t grow with the right light, but it will become water hungry very fast and require you to constantly refill the reservoir.

Yes…but you won’t be able to do it with the system you have…and the entire desk and floor will be covered with vines…and that’s just from 1 seedling

you can grow houseplants in the same set up. stick some pothos cuttings in there (granted i dont see how youll get the roots out if you decide to transfer it)
