Monstera

How do I gently repot and support this giant?!

I adopted this guy a while ago from someone who couldn't take care of it anymore, and it's really exploded! It was already big and pushing the bounds of the pot when I brought it home, but I didn't realize just how much it had grown until recently. I've still got a lot to learn about houseplants though, and I'm very nervous about hurting it while trying to help it.

Obviously it needs a much bigger pot. What kind of support would be best? Any tips for not hurting the roots too badly? Do I need to divide it?! Any help is greatly appreciated, I love this monstera so much!

I just repotted mine with one of the moss D-shape structure poles. I stuffed it with Sphagnum moss and attached the plant with a velcro strip. I was told on here to make sure to stick the part of the plant shooting the aerial roots towards the pole. That way it will climb.

Mine isn’t your size though. Just wanted to share what I did. I’m sure someone will chime in soon!

It looks like you may want to consider a chop and prop during the repotting.
