Begonia dregei wild growth

I finally got my dregei to grow after 2 years of stunted growth, but now it's just wild and I don't now what to do.

It grows out these rangy horizontal branches with a thin/weak joint to the main branch which breaks off easily (pics 2-3). Then it has these nubs where 6-8 leaves grow out like spokes in a bicycle wheel, with oddly long petioles. Little if any upright growth.

I have no idea what to do. Stake it up? Hard prune? Selective prune (but where)? Less fertilizer?

I'm not particularly invested in creating a true bonsai although growing a caudex would be nice. Just want to do right by Dregei. What are they supposed to look like?
