Help! Donkey tail leaves are all shriveled but still new growth

Hello everyone!

I accidentally left my donkey tail out in the sun for too long one time, so that sunburn is not really new

I am concerned that my lil guy has all his leaves shriveled, and the new growth leaves are also shriveled…?
He lives outside on my patio with direct light from morning sun, then shade rest of the day.
I water him every now and then, i am inconsistent with it, but i dont notice a difference when he is watered.

How can I make them plump again?

Thank you all!

Thank you for posting to r/plantclinic!

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.
