Thoughts on raised flower bed in middle of lawn?

Got given a couple of these garden bed frames from a neighbour, either to use myself or chuck in a buy-nothing group.

I don’t have a tremendous amount of room and my options are either in my catio for a herb garden (where I’ll need to keep it covered permanently so they don’t use it as a toilet), or in the middle of our lawn and plant flowers.

I’m not a big lawn person, I think grass is generally a waste and I’d rather beautify the place and provide for pollinators.

However I’m also not sure if setting up the flower bed like in the photo is a great idea. Is it too cluttered? Will it be a massive pain in the arse?

Anyone done this and have any thoughts? All I’ve done for the time being is hold the frame In place without putting it together, to see how I feel about it and get some second opinions.

(Please disregard the other mess in the yard, I’m in the middle of doing a spring clean in the garden lol)

I don’agree with you about lawn and water use or waste of space, but… dont do this.

An established lawn can be pretty easy to maintain and not use much water if you are smart about it.

By putting it in the middle you will just make it harder for yourself.

You have that many weird angles and corners in the back that this would fit better.

I’d probably mulch this area. That way, you can extend your garden bed and then place the raised bed on top alongside your path for easy access

It’s smack in the middle of your cricket pitch
