What have I done wrong?

I got my first terrarium last week. It’s a glass one with a glass top and it all looked great when I purchased it from a local market. I noticed the condensation on the top disappeared after a couple of days (none at any time of day) so I opened it up and watered it very lightly with a spray bottle. Now, five days on from that, the condensation still hasn’t returned again but my plants are looking wilted and I also had to remove two brown dead leaves this morning. Please can someone let me know what I’ve done wrong and how I can remedy this?

I would bet real money that due to the fact the condensation dissipated, you have a problem with maintaining the seal and allowing humidity within the vessel to build to an acceptable and sustainable level. There are always going to be minor imperfections where the two surfaces mate hence why we incorporate the use of rubber, cork and similar materials. You could attempt to fashion a makeshift seal but the result is often cumbersome and unsightly.

For my Venus flytrap I’ve used plastic wrap, I poke a couple little holes & the humidity it builds is great.
