Fiddle Leaf Fig

Am I doing this wrong?

I think I cut this too short? I removed the bottom leaves, you can see those exposed nodes under water. Should they be under water? Not sure if the water level is too high? Would appreciate someone telling me where the water level should be to propagate this cutting. Thanks

How long has it been? I’ve had one in water for 3-4 weeks, and nothing yet.

Looks perfectly fine to me !
    Best of luck

It takes time (and patience), around 10-12 weeks to sprout roots, if I remember correctly. I’m no pro, but I was successful once before and currently have three cuttings in jars of water. I propagated in late July (roughly 7 weeks ago), and I’m just now seeing little white specks where roots will eventually sprout. Besides watching it grow, I’d just be sure to give the cutting(s) plenty of light and change the water weekly. I hope this helps!

Oh, and, the water level looks similar to how I have mine, and I haven’t had any problems. I’d just be sure keep the leaves out of the water – Peace!

ETA: I’d also suggest considering removing a couple of leaves so the plant can focus less on the leaves and more on sprouting roots.

I cut a nine stem flf plant from ceiling height to about 2 feet tall so I ended up with three vases of cuttings. I even added pothos cuttings to each one because I hear they make a lot of hormones while rooting. And they have rooted very well. However, 3/4 of my fiddle leaf fig cuttings have not done anything but make raise bumps along the stems. Some others have huge root balls which I’m about to plant, so I’m not sure what to think. Let’s both be patient. Looks like you’re right on track. Good luck

just go straight into soil, no need to do it this way.
