Plant Propagation

Rose of Sharon

I set about propagating these cuttings in water at the end of May. Transferred to soil in August. Kept on a fairly shady windowsill in the Uk. We don’t get a great amount of sunlight at the best of times. Rooted well and appears to be strong, but no visible growth. The edges of a couple of the leaves seem to be getting a bit crispy and brown. What should I be doing now? Do I just leave them until spring? And then what? Any advice appreciated. Ty.

Ime they are super slow to do anything. So I wouldn’t worry too much. I would just leave them still spring usually they loss all of their old leaves in the meantime. As long as the nodes are green they are still good even if they are bare.

Funny story I took some cutting from a mulberry tree. Had them growing in a pot for 3 years. This year one got a beautiful large white blossom. Lol that mulberry tree must have had a rose of Sharon wrapped around the trunk.
