My fiance picked out this alocasia about a month ago from home depot and I'm not sure what it is so in scared I'm going to accidently kill it. It's growing a new leaf but the lowest leaf(picture 1) is much lighter than all the others. At this point I'm assuming it's because it's a newer leaf but, it's also seems a bit droopy compared to the darker leaves.
Yesterday was the first time I actually watered it. Before that, I just sprayed down the top of the soil every couple of days with a spray bottle to keep the exposed roots and top 1.5-2cm(?) of soil moist.
