Plant Propagation

Micro half dead cuttings

Hey all. I have procured teensy tiny allegedly Swedish ivy cuttings from my grandmothers backyard plants. They’re looking pretty rough but right now I have them in a damp paper towel. My issue is that, the last time I tried propagating these in water, it immediately soaked the stem and rotted from the top down. These are a new round of tiny, sickly cuttings but I’m not sure I want to try water propping them again. Do I go straight for soil? Do I let them callous? Are they even Swedish ivy? Thanks!!
