Plant Propagation

Did I prop upside down?!

I think it was growing the other way but I’m not sure as someone gave me this small Hoya cutting and I don’t remember what the plant looked like. I was just about pot and thought it looked wrong 🫣🤔🤗

Sorta, but its not a problem. Personally i would plant it as is then in a few weeks reprop the upper section, as it may eventually kill off the upside down leaves. or lay it in a shallow water bath till it pushes roots out of all the other nodes, then cut it up for planting.

My last upside down cutting was a single leaf, and it got a grow light under it so it still got enough light to push out new growth.

Based on the way the petioles are emerging from the stem, it looks upside down to me :/ I’d cut those sections off and lay them down in the soil so just the stem and roots are covered. I’d then propagate the remaining parts right side up.
