Carnivorous Plants

I have questions ๐Ÿ˜€

Hello ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I got my first nepenthes around April of this year. It is not the one shown, it is one significantly smaller in a 2 inch pot. I got this one from a nearby nursery approx. a month and a half ago. The nursery described it as โ€œLemon Alataโ€ but from what Iโ€™ve seen in a few comments thatโ€™s probably not true. I could be wrong.

You canโ€™t see it under the moss but the pot is filled with peat instead of sphagnum. I have a difficult time watering it with the moss over the peat and want to switch it over to sphagnum moss only. I want to do this because Iโ€™m more aware of how quickly the sphagnum will dry than the peat. Is this something I can do without a high risk of killing it? What can I do to minimize the risk of shock?

I wanted to move it to the white pot shown. Please ignore that itโ€™s dirty, it has been outside with the plant graveyard and will be cleaned thoroughly. Is this pot too big for this plant? The pot itโ€™s currently in has a wider lip than the one I want to move it to, is this something I need to consider? I donโ€™t know very much about how to best support these plants and I have had a difficult time finding information on it.

Finally, I do not want to separate the basal from the mother plant. If I take it out of the peat will they separate or do they need to be pulled apart? If they do separate can I still put them back together in the pot?

Thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š
