Lawn Care

What the heck is this big clump?

I have a few of these clumps in the front yard and I am considering burning them off with glyphosate and then seeding again, but I am concerned this is some type of fescue that may be in my seed mix and I just don’t know it.

Side note – any suggested mixes for over seeding? I was thinking straight KBG but then I read it does not overseed well into stands that are not already primarily KBG.

Last question – looking to upgrade my sprayer. Is there commercial backpack sprayers on the market that will generate enough pressure to have 2-3 nozzles rather than a single nozzle?

TIA!

I think this is clumping talk fescue. If so it sucks because selective weed killers won’t kill it. I have only had any success with glyphosate.

Just going to comment on the overseeding; I’m year 2 into overseeding with a KBG mix into a TTTF established yard, and so far the results are really great. Just go with a quality product, example: I buy all my seed from Twin City Seed.
