Orchids

Can you help me identify the rotting roots? None were mushy all the way. Some were mushy close to the stem.

Having a really hard time figuring out which roots to cut. None of them are super mushy through and through like in the YouTube videos. Some of them look like they are rotting suuuper close to the stem- I cut off two roots that seemed mostly healthy, but were very loose at the stem and did have some mushiness right where they meet the stem. I'm guessing that's a bad place to have root rot šŸ˜‚

This is my first orchid, I don't wanna cut off too many roots, especially because they are mostly stiff and pretty long. Should I be conservative with the cutting or should I just cut off anything that looks remotely unhealthy? Id say there's at least 4-5 roots that would be spared even if I cut the ones that look suspicious close to the stem.

Also. How should I fertilize? This orchid is like 3 weeks old, I just repotted it and washed the root system for that so I guess I shouldn't water and fertilize it right now
