What’s happened to my pear tree?

Hi, last year we had an abundance of lovely pears from our tree, yet this year there is no fruit and we have black spots on the leaves.

If anyone knows what the problem is? Will the tree recover next year? Also is there a way a human could have maliciously done this to the tree by poisoning it? We have a nasty neighbour who wants to destroy our trees, and has already cut a plum tree without asking (no it doesn’t go over on to their land!)

It does looks sick, did you checked around roots? No dodgy smell or rot around the base of the tree? Or unusual soil disturbance? If not it could be genetics

You’re going to have to wash it to get the bug out of the bark. Don’t worry- it’s fixable
