Hello all, I rescued these two baby trees (are they saplings yet?) but they have little root systems, usually I just prop in water with just a node, should I put these in water for a while first or straight into soil? TIA

Idk what it’s the first one, but you can put the loquat direct in soil, it has a good root system.
I grow loquats and don’t think either one is a loquat.
