Most of the names on the bags are common names (and the beard tongue has the location associated with it). We have a book that keeps track of everything, so when we process the seed heads we will have the scientific name.

So do you let them dry before you take them off the head? This is my first year, growing sunflowers and collecting seeds.

I was out collecting today as well!
Mostly tall boneset, spotted joe pye weed, and foxglove beardtongue right now. Keeping my eye on the New England aster and the turtlehead (chelone glabra), and hop(not entirely sure, false hop maybe?) sedge to be collected next!
