I’m running out of time to do it but today is my day off. The plan is to put down amendments, till, seed, roll.

Hell yeah I would. Let mother nature do the watering for you while it can

I would kill for that forecast, it has been stupidly dry here and it will be a second mortgage to pay the water bill.

I would. Spread the seed, cover with 1/8-1/4 inch compost then roll. If you get a big washout throw some more seed down next week. I used this method and got about 3 inches in one day last year when i seeded. Everything came in fine except a couple spots got super soggy and came up slower than the rest but still came up!

Yea for sure. I’d kill for that forecast lol. I seeded when it was 60 last weekend now it’s high 80s low 90s. I’m having success but my water bill is going to be rough.

I’ll give you something to think about in the other direction. If you’re seeding a perfectly flat ground, absolutely. If you have any slope whether that’s small or large, just be very aware of washout. You can do some preventative measures, but a lot of water is enough to wreck everything.

Heck yeah! Free irrigation. Meanwhile it’s been 85°+ and I’m scared for my lawn -zone 5b

Depends if it’s gentle rain or torrential. I’ve had reseeds ruined by large rainstorms. Nice soft rain however would be terrific.

Yes of course. But you’d have to adjust your watering times

Gods I would kill for this forecast. I saw go for it. Had a large area of my lawn hydroseeded 3 weeks ago after a home addition project and it’s rained exactly once since then. I have 10 sprinklers that I’ve been juggling trying to keep up.

Make sure there’s no compacted soil – which could cause runoff. Other than that, I’d kill for this forecast
