WTH is happening here??

Can somebody tell me why my neighborhood has become a mushroom farm? Started with one here and another there but now they have just popped up out of nowhere. It's happening on all of our lawns. Been in this house for over 30 years and have never seen this before.

There’s is a fungus in the soil that is eating something (decaying roots?). The mushrooms are the flowers of the fungi. Why they are all over your neighborhood, I have no clue, but I will be interested to see what the experts in this group say.

    They’re popping up like daisies!

But in all seriousness, mushrooms feed off of decay and high moisture.

You got sustained rainfall in the neighborhood. Those mushrooms are an indicator of good soil health, and the Mycorrhizal activity under ground further improves your soil.

You can mow over them, or just tip them over with your feet if you don’t like the look. Don’t kill them.

I’ve been working for a few years to try to get the soil in an area of turf that healthy.
