Help with Holiday cactus that is finally perking up !

My cactus – wiki called it a “false” Christmas cactus – was bought two years ago. I had a much smaller one that bloomed and the blooms are so beautiful, I wanted another. When I purchased this one it was full with a lot of stems. Fast forward a year, it has gotten so droopy, dry. It seemed dead, despite my watering. Out of nowhere, I noticed this morning the middle has perked up and is starting a couple blooms! Any advice on how I can keep this plant going in a good direction?

It is two feet or so away from a south facing window.

A common problem with cacti and succulents is etiolation. This is when a succulent stretches or becomes leggy. Reply with “!etiolation” for advice.

For starters move her closer to the window! Mine likes to be right by it. I find that mine prefers a good bit of water in the summer – specifically after the soil fully dries and it starts to droop a bit, I water it more. If the soil is now dry, DROWN that hoe. Make sure that the roots are actually absorbing the water and that the soil has not become hydrophobic.

Maybe take the decorative paper off and replace it with a saucer so you can water/ fertilize it deeper.

My cactus gets cranky and droops when its not getting enough sun light, water it and give it ALL THE SUNLIGHT it will perk up and become more firm with less wrinkles
