This could be a really silly question but I’m just concerned that that’s dieback at the top. This crimson king is in my parent’s front yard as an ornamental tree. Obviously it’s Autumn now and expecting some leaf drop and curling but just curious about it overall because it looks a bit sadder in general than the other Norway maple or the alder they planted beside it (Ireland)
I noticed a long time back it has a rim around its trunk that almost looks like girdling but I have no idea what happened to it or how far it went
