This Cedar Elm tree is growing STRAIGHT out of a boulder.
I don’t know if the tree got embedded on top of the boulder and has rooted down into it, or if someone drilled a hole through the boulder and planted the tree in the soil below…
Either way it’s amazing and I am excited to see how it progresses.
Will it break the rock apart as it grows? Or will it get top heavy and break because there is no stem taper at the bottom? Only time will tell.

Neat. Maybe you can make it a bonsai… it already looks super cool as is.
