Feeling uninspired :(

Hi all

I am a keen gardener but this patch of earth outside the front of my house is a bit of an eyesore and to be frank, I hate it 😂

I want something which is relatively low maintenance but also formal. I am inspired by parterre type beds

NEW PLAN:
I am thinking I want to line the bed with a buxus alternative (possibly ilex crenata) around the edges, with brick paths all leading to the magnolia in the middle for ease and also decorative value

In terms of planting in the gaps though (with the ?in the last pic) what would you recommend I plant? I am thinking lavender as I love watching the bees but would ideally like all year round interest

Thank you for reading!

I’d just slam some nasturtiums in there but I have an obsession with lately, and any orange flower really. This would fill the gaps nicely though I think.

  2. If it’s private enough to sit outside:

Lavender border, white gravel, round table in middle. Wisteria trailing over door and window.

If not private for sitting :

Lavender border, gravel, round wildlife pond set in the ground Or a water fountain of some sort.
