Why is my moss going yellow/brown?

Hello everyone, please note I’m totally new to this.

This terrarium was built before I managed to get a bag of substrate for terrariums etc. So this one is built with everything I found around my house. The soil was very very dry at first and it took a while for it to get proper moisture. But I’m glad the little fittonia is holding on well (or at least I think so).

Whenever I check the soil and the moss, everything is damp. There is some condensation regularly as you can see. I’m not sure why this is happening? Do I need to water it more?

if you’re using tap water, hard water can turn moss brown. another possibility is if its getting direct sunlight, that’ll cook it. is it just moss from outside? some temperate moss go through dormancy periods. overwatering is much riskier and harder to manage than underwatering. if you’re getting am/pm condensation, id assume the moisture level is adequate so that should be one of the latter things you mess with since if you over water and it goes anaerobic it is extremely hard to salvage effectively.
