Tomatoes

Flowering but not fruiting

All of my tomatoes have been flowering for 2 weeks but haven’t produced any tomatoes. Any ideas?

Temperature and humidity are the two biggest culprits. If it’s too hot or humid the pollen just won’t set well. Also if there has not been much wind and few pollinators the pollen might not be getting moved.

Flowers only have about a 50 hour window to be pollinated. You can go out and gently tap on it shake the flowers, or you can go the electric toothbrush route. Midday is a good time to do this as the morning humidity has dropped a bit and it isn’t scorching yet.

There’s a spray you can buy to trick the flowers into growing fruit. Bonide.
