Snailarium

Ecosystem this was gathered from can be described as such…

A glacial pond, mill pond or man made ditch pond near a highway Northeast USA.There is no information present on what the ponds is anywhere. I was simply hiking and fishing a trail and took a small patch of hair grass to identify and here it is. I'll be leaving this to hopefully thrive.

Plenty of frogs, sunfish, snails, insect life. Alot of green cloudy algae species were present. Hair grass and reeds were observed.

No turtles were basking. No birds or ducks were present. Trash was littered everywhere around the shore. I did see a homeless shelter(aka tent) and an old concrete structure.

The shoreline had receded about 10 feet horizontally, and about 5 feet vertically. The pond was shallow at the shoreline and surrounded by trees on the edges of the depression/ditch it was in.

Still identifying alot of what is in here plant wise there's a few species. I've got mystery snails and bladder snails. And I've yet to see it with my eyes but there's a snail in there large enough to be laying eggs….somewhere.

To clarify. The entire pond should have been 5 feet deeper. You could see where the water receded. It was surrounded by boulders and was basically a big bowl. My hands were filthy and the place was trashed. So I didn’t take pictures.
