I live in Denton, Texas. I have this live oak in my front lawn that appears to be in distress. The leaves look ok for the most part but the trunk is worrying me. Mainly because the critters. Are these termites or carpenter ants? There are also splits and cavities in the bark.
What can I do to help this tree? I have just sprayed the ant/termites with soapy water but I'm not sure that's going to help much.
