Getting on top of the overgrowth now will set you up for spring. We’ve an agreement with a local tree surgeon – he drops his wood chips at the entrance to the allotments and we use it for weed control between the raised beds. Works a treat if you put weed membrane down then woodchips. Weeds just can’t get deep roots.

Excellent work! Just keep those beds covered over and you’ll have something to work with in the spring. Are you thinking of going no dig with them???
