Hello everyone, I've recently started exploring the art of bonsai. I need some advice. I bought a couple of plants and would like to turn them into bonsai. The first one I'm letting grow since it's still small, and the second one is the cherry tree in the photo.
I've been letting it grow freely for about a year while regularly fertilizing it. Unfortunately, this year it got sunburned, which is why there are some yellow leaves. However, I can see that it's recovering very well.
To create a bonsai from this plant, what do you recommend I do? I'd like to try and stimulate the growth of more branches, especially on the lower part of the trunk, and possibly prune the top later on. I'm not sure whether I should give it some sort of shaping.
As you can tell, being a beginner, my ideas are quite confused… I thank you in advance for any advice!
