I've recently moved and our new home has garden beds, super overgrown so I've taken it into my own hands to completely redo them! During my weeding, I found this mystery plant growing beneath all the thick weeds! I've put him in a little pot for now!

Looks like a camellia? Are the leaves stiff and a bit waxy almost?
Could it be a camellia? Leaves and bark are very similar
