We just moved in to this house and they left this plant behind and I don’t wanna get rid of it how can I make hold it’s own weight or we barely just watered it because we been here for 3 days now and can someone identify what type of plant this is?

Should I cut off the damaged parts of the plant or can I tape em up or something so they can be more stable and not droopy

But to answer some: it’s a bird of paradise, and it’s drooping becasue it needs water. It could also use some support (bamboo canes), but these naturally spread a bit.
