I know many struggle with alocasias at first. So I just want to encourage you to give them a chance. My micholiziana had struggles at first, only growing 3 leaves at a time.
I put it in leca and water, waited half a year and now look. It has currently 6 leaves (one hides behind another), with 4 of them really big (+30 cm in length). I also copped the roots some time back, which seemed to help with the leave size. The roots have grown back completely and are as healthy as they can get. Furthermore I just have it under a 20€ Growlight from amazon. It really does the job.
So don't feel discouraged by this pretty plants! They just need some time.

Thanks so much for this message – I just got my first Frydek baby and it’s so tiny and already looks floppy so it’s stressing me out. I will just have to be patient and learn as much as possible!
I’m worried because I’m putting mine in a soil mix that it won’t be as “pretty” as the ones in Leca or Pon but let’s see!
