Is it over?

Planted these emerald green arborvitaes spring this year and they were looking good all along until the past month or so. I've been watering them equally, but then started giving this one more water since it was looking more brown than the others. It only seems to have worsened so I'm not sure if it's game over for this one or if it's salvageable. There's always been mulch under the trees and this area of my lawn retains water more than the rest due to the grading. This spot is also in the sun majority of the day. I'm in Southern Ontario (Canada) and in Zone 5B.

As a hail mary, I hammered in a tree fertilizer spike today to see if it could help it in anyway, but I understand it may be too late.

Anyone experienced this and was successful in recovering it? If so, what did you do?

Thanks in advance. I'm a rookie so any info helps
