    There are two main reasons to repot a violet. First, it has outgrown the pot. In general, as long as the diameter of the pot is at least 1/3 the diameter of the crown, the plant has not outgrown the pot. This plant has not outgrown the pot. Second, the soil has degraded or become compacted. That I can’t tell from the photo. Best practice is to repot standard violets once a year and minis every 6-9 months. This keeps the soil fresh and prevents problems that occur with degraded or compacted soil.
