Just found this little segment on the ground and decided to try and propagate it, will this setup work? Should I keep it indoors or outdoors? should I remove the flower? I'm in zone 9a if it helps.
No, unless you trying for a hydroponic cactus. Plant will grow different roots ei if placed in water or soil. Cactus need to have callused over the wound so after letting it dry place in a pot with min. 50 perlite and don’t water for about a month and a half. It will try to make roots or shoot out a pup. Unlike houseplants cactus will rot if placed like that to prop. Good luck
