Dahlia failing before end of season

Any suggestions on what to do if a plant is failing before it's really time to dig them all up? I think this one is suffering from poor airflow thanks to my overzealous nasturtiums (I love them, and usually they're allowed to go rampant, but I think they smothered this poor dahlia).

We had super dry weather for too long, and I'd been running drip irrigation on all my beds. This dahlia got planted late AND bloomed late, while the volunteer nasturtiums have been super happy. I didn't realize what was going on here…

I've ripped out the nasturtiums to improve airflow, but worry it may be too late for the dahlia. Should I just let it go, even if the plant dies down, figuring the tubers are still developing?

Thx!
