That’s not new growth, different plant definitely, what kind, I cannot say
It’s a psilotum fern. Common from plants grown in florida. I like them so I try and repot them, but they don’t grow roots so they’re quite tricky to repot.

I’d give it a few weeks before pulling them up. They may be something you might want to repot!
