Is too wet? I’ve put some compost to inoculate it and also because at one point it smelt like ammonia. It’s a week old and it smells quiet fresh no foul smells. I just scarified my garden but I’m worried if I add it to the pile it would be too much green. Also, should I invest in a thermometer?

That looks a bit too wet to me, I would try to mix in some cardboard, paper, etc throughout the pile.
If you squeeze a handful of it, a single drop should come out, but if more than that comes, it’s too wet.
