Plant Identification

Trying to identify plants so I can take better care of them

I’ve been keeping houseplants for a few years now but in a fairly passive way. Recently, I’ve been picking up the addiction at an alarming pace which not only has me wanting more plants, but also wanting to take better care of the ones I already have.

I’ve started making a spreadsheet of best care practices for each of my plants, but I can’t for the life of me remember what these two are.

The monstera doesn’t have as many slits as most I see when trying to identify it online. The leaves are also mostly in tact (slits don’t reach edge of leaf most of the time). In the cases where the slits do reach the edge there’s often a thin piece of leaf still connecting the two pieces (see pictures for an example)

The other plant is the bane of my existence. It came in a hanging pot absolutely overflowing with these little ‘vines.’ I remember the leaves having a fuzzy/velvety texture that made the leaves look purple. It’s been along time since it looked anything like that, now it has waxy green leaves that have purple bottoms which are on purple stems

I left it hanging in a horrible spot and knocked it over multiple times. It got down to 2-3 half dead vines that I cut up and propagated. I’ve repeated the propagation two or three times since and most of the time they seem to do okay but take a long time to root and grow slowly.

Also, if you made it this far: any tips on where to find cheap ceramic pots? I keep finding fun new plants from local growers for $2-$5 but it hurts to have to spend $20 for a small pot every time I impulse buy a new plant.

Thanks for any help!!
