Fiddle Leaf Fig

What to do with this?

My mother-in-law got me this fiddle leaf fig some five years ago, and I didn't know anything about them so I just put it in my one sunny window and let it grow. It's now too big for my space, and in looking on how to prune it down, I realized there is not actually a bush form of this plant, and I just have five plants growing intertwined.

What should I try to do here? I probably have no hope of separating them, but if I cut four stems all the way down to the base, are their old roots still going to choke the one plant I leave? Should I give up on this one and try to split off some babies?

This is *Gorgeous* – I really like the look of fiddles in clusters like that, but if it is too big, you could try to separate it (risky since the roots are likely so entangled), or just trim some parts back- you can propagate the cuttings and make more plants 🙂
