Ariel root is long! Am I doing this right? Or should I repot?

    You don’t need to stick it in water. If you want, you can try to gently redirect it into the pot, preferably after soaking with a wet paper towel or something to make it more pliable. You can also just trim it back to an inch or so away from the stem, then see if it puts out new growth, then guide it into the pot as it grows. Aerial roots generally grow to provide structural support to the plant by attaching to a structure or eventually burrowing into the soil. If it reaches into the soil, it will then grow into a normal part of the root system. You can also just leave it, but it will probably keep getting longer.
