Please help๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ Very sentimental ๐Ÿ˜–

So my gramma recently passed away, kind of suddenly, we were at my grandparents house and I saw some plants on the windowsill, she always had plants there, but this one was the only one that had color, the rest were dead and black, I took this plant hoping we could save it and itโ€™s not doing good. We really donโ€™t know what this plant is so if you guys could help with identifying it that would be a HUGE help! My bf has it on a timed light with his other ones, and thereโ€™s a ton of water in it right now but we replanted it after bringing home but it took us awhile to do so ๐Ÿ™

  1. It’s hard to tell what kind of plant it is but I think some plants are very dramatic when they get moved or repotted, did you notice anything wrong with the roots? If not the plant may just be trying to bounce back from a bit of neglect, if you want you can leave it as is and hope the new soil and water do the trick, or maybe trim the rough edges a bit so it’s focusing it’s energy on the important bits that can be saved

I was given one that was my mom’s. She passed and no one was even watering it. I did cut off all dry leaves after repot but don’t overwater it, wait till the top 25% is dry.

  3. Sorry for your loss. I agree completely with the light set up but is it possible to know the light schedule and the region of your area? Transplant was the right move did you notice anything about the roots? This could just have been from the neglect for the period of absence. Will take time to build strength and adapt to the new home. Will keep researching but no worries we will figure this out
