    I was thinking of maybe bringing everything closer together for one, to make it more compact.

  2. There is no taper here, so eventually, you will need to cut this back hard. Essentially, you will need to do a trunk chop in late winter early spring. However, you might just want to let it grow for several years first so you can get a really thick trunk
