I found this on the ground, is it a spider baby? Is it able to be potted or propagated like this?

Put it in a glass of water and a bright location in about a week or two you’ll start seeing some roots come out

As someone who has multiple spider plants I can tell you that it’s hard to go wrong when propagating spider plant babies. What I would do is trim off the stem and stick it in some water and let it sit in bright indirect light for a week or two until it starts to grow roots, just make sure the leaves aren’t submerged. From there, you can choose to leave it in the water and it will grow just fine living off of that, Just make sure you throw a little plant fertilizer in the water 1-2 times a year and change the water when algae gets too bad. Or if you want to grow it in soil, bury the roots in a pot and keep it well watered until it establishes its roots in the soil. Spiders are a tropical but hardy plant that can bounce back from underwatering and even a light frost as long as the main root system doesn’t freeze.

It looks like a curly spider plant.
