String of Plants

Trying to save this string of rubies/pickles

Hi all! I saved this cutie from death on a bottom bench at a hardware store. After inspection, it looked like it was just really dry. I did a bunch of pruning on it and gave it a thorough rinse and soak because she was THIRSTY. the next day the soil was literally bone dry and she was still pretty withered so i gave her a bit more water, which may have been controversial but it was literally as if i hadn’t given it any water at all. she looks MUCH better today, but she’s soaked up almost all of the water and she still has a lot of withery leaves, so i decided to consult the experts. what should i do next? i’m fairly new to string plants (i have a string of pearls that’s quite happy and string of bananas and string of dolphins cuttings that are… alive)

-did not repot after purchasing, roots seem a bit tight but not rootbound
-used filtered water both times to water
-outside on a southeast balcony for now quarantining but hoping to move to northwest porch where my string of pearls vibes, unless it’s happy there

1st pic – post pruning and first soak two days ago
2nd pic – post second watering one day ago
3rd/4th pic – this morning, no changes aside from a little light maintenance

hope i’ve provided enough info! thanks in advance!

i’m trying to edit but i can’t figure out how lol. i know it might need a bigger pot because of all the growth on top. and that root rot is a concern with over watering. sorry for the format error with the notes in the 2nd and 3rd paragraphs!
