Cephalotus – Advice needed

Hey there! I had lots of CPs back then but last time I moved I had to basically stop having plants for a while.
I am now starting all over again and had the opportunity to go with my all time favorite, but, I need some advice.
I live in Portugal, near the coast, zone 10b, the humidity is always high and it's rare to go beyond 3 Celsius in the winter so I'm growing them outside all year round, they are beneath my balcony where the garage entrance is so they get air circulation, bright indirect sunlight and some direct as well.
My question is more for the watering, as it's so humid it's been like 4 or 5 days and I still see the water sheen on top and feels damp, should I let it dry more before watering? I'm kind of scared to screw it up. Any tips? Thanks a lot!

Hi, my advice for growing cephalotus outside is :
    – pot it on a very big pot (particulary high), like 10 liters.

    – use the most drained substrate you can made. Personaly i use coco peat, a looot of very fine aquarium sand and a lot of biger drainage like perlite, seramis, and akadama too.

    Water:
    – now you have you plant poted in you pot with the mix, use a water tray always filed with water (of course rain or osmosis). Filed to a quarter of the pot ~.

And for the light, if you have some direct sun during the day it’s really cool, you will have some nice colors.
Watch out in summer, too much sun can burn the plant (max 1-2h for me in south of France). Right now i put it full sun and plants love it.

Also don’t put some sphagnum moss or other moss stuff at the top, this plant hate humidity around rizhome.
