First mow after over seeding. Cut as low as possible, dethatched, pre germinated the seed, and tossed it down with milorganite. The town I’m from does not allow sprinklers of any kind even for a lawn renovation so I hand watered the lawn and relied on what little rain we’ve gotten. It’s still not perfect but from where it was 3 years ago when I bought the house it was basically dirt and weeds I think it looks pretty great.
